We have a 7-day return policy, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return. For Courier deliveries, this will be 7 days after the delivery notification, from the courier used, has been received
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, or damaged, or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. If damaged, please take 3 photos from 3 different angles and email them to info@katbatt.co.za with a description of the damage.
Limited Warranty and Refund Policy for LifePO4 Battery
KATBATT warrants to the original purchaser that the LifePO4 Battery (“Product”) will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase for all 5kWh to 14.3kWh battery units (“Warranty Period”). For vehicle type batteries smaller than 5 kWh a 5-year warranty is provided. Non-battery products which include lithium chargers come with a standard 1-year warranty from date of purchase.
During the Warranty Period, if the Product fails to operate as described due to defects in materials or workmanship, KATBATT will, at its option, repair or replace the Product without charge. The replacement Product may be new, refurbished, or reconditioned. The client or the installer of the battery will deliver the battery(“Product”) to the KATBATT factory for inspection. The client or installer will ensure that they have the correct goods in transit insurance duing the transport to the KATBATT factory.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, improper handling, installation, or maintenance, or any alteration or modification of the Product. This warranty also does not cover normal wear and tear or deterioration of the Product.

If the Product fails during the Warranty Period and cannot be repaired or replaced, the customer may be entitled to a refund. The refund amount will be calculated based on a time scale with a specific percentage of the original value for each year used.
The refund schedule is as follows:

For example, if the original purchase price of the battery was R1000 and it failed during the third year of the 10-year warranty period, the refund amount would be calculated as follows:
Refund amount = R1000 x 70% = R700
So the customer would be entitled to a refund of R700 for the failed battery.
The same linear calculation is applied for products with a shorter warranty term of 5 years for example:

So the customer would be entitled to a refund of R800 for the failed battery.
This warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. KATBATT shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use or profits, arising from the use or inability to use the Product.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state or province to province.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.
This warranty is void if the Product is returned to KATBATT with removed or altered labels or serial numbers.
This warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
This warranty is governed by the laws of the state or province where the Product was purchased.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have to the KATBATT factory at 1 Wright Way, Kirkwood, 6120, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
