At KATBATT, we’re proud to design and manufacture our own lithium batteries right here in Nqweba/Kirkwood, in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
We started in 2020, founded by Johannes van Eck and Hein Joubert — both with Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stellenbosch University. From the beginning, our goal has been simple: to give South Africans a reliable alternative to imported lead-acid batteries, with local innovation and dependable support.
